Why travel Vietnam with Authentic Indochina
Each itinerary below is one we have run many times, written out day by day so you know what the trip actually involves. Pick the one closest to your dates and interests and tell us what you would change — an extra night in a village, a cooking class in place of a museum, a slower pace with children. That is how most of our trips end up being built.
Few countries change as much from one end to the other. The north gives you Hanoi and the karsts of Ha Long Bay; the centre puts a beach and a UNESCO old town within the same afternoon at Da Nang and Hoi An; the south finishes warm, in Ho Chi Minh City and on the islands below it. Because the country is so long, the first thing to settle on any route is how much of it you want to cross by air.
What follows starts at four days in the capital and stretches to a fortnight running the length of the country. Everything is arranged by our own people in Hanoi, which is why a changed flight or a cancelled cruise departure can be worked around while you are still travelling.
