What this trip covers

Of all our Siem Reap trips, this two-night option is the shortest: one guided day takes in Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom, the empire's walled former capital, while a driver alone — no guide — handles the airport transfers on either end. Rather than a single fixed hotel, you pick the category of accommodation that suits you.

Because there is no extra excursion day, this trip suits you if you have already seen Siem Reap's secondary sights, or if you simply want the most direct route to Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom before moving on elsewhere in the region.

Highlights

  • Angkor Wat, the world's largest religious monument
  • Angkor Thom, the fortified last capital of the Khmer empire
  • Choice of hotel category to suit your budget
  • Breakfast included on the Angkor sightseeing day

Day by day

Day 1: Arrival in Siem Reap

Siem Reap International Airport is your arrival point, and from there a private vehicle takes you to the hotel — no guide included on this run. What's left of the day is free to explore on your own; Old Market and the Pub Street area sit within easy walking distance if you fancy a look before the Angkor excursion begins.

Day 2: Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom (B)

Your single guided day opens at Angkor Wat, built in the 12th century for King Suryavarman II, standing unmatched in size among the world's religious monuments; you then continue to Angkor Thom, the Khmer empire's final capital, enclosed by both a wall and a moat. Breakfast is included, and you pay for other meals yourself.

Day 3: Transfer to Siem Reap Airport (B)

Breakfast at the hotel comes first. Siem Reap International Airport is your next stop, reached by the same kind of private, driver-only transfer used on arrival, timed for your flight out. No guide travels with you on this leg either, and the departure day includes no sightseeing.

Frequently asked questions

Is a guide included throughout?
Guiding is limited to the single day at Angkor Wat plus Angkor Thom; the airport runs, both arriving and leaving, come with a driver alone. That trade-off is what keeps the price below our more comprehensive itineraries.
Can I choose my own hotel?
Yes, this trip is quoted against a range of hotel categories rather than one fixed property. Tell us your budget and preferred area and we will price the matching hotel.
Is one day enough to see Angkor properly?
A single day does justice to Angkor Wat plus Angkor Thom, the two headline sites here. Want Phnom Kulen, Ta Prohm or a morning on Tonle Sap by boat too? Our 3-night or 4-night Siem Reap trips work those in.
Can this be booked for just one or two people?
Yes, this trip runs as either a private booking or a small joined group, so a solo traveller or a couple can book it just as easily as a larger party.
Do I need a visa for Cambodia?
Cambodia's e-visa can be arranged online ahead of your trip. Alternatively, Siem Reap International Airport issues visas on arrival. Since validity rules are tied to your specific passport, confirm them before you book.
