Island days centre on a speedboat and kayak outing through Angthong Marine Park, plus a stop at an ethical elephant sanctuary that doesn't offer rides, leaving generous stretches of free beach time in between.
Bangkok then shifts the pace toward sightseeing and shopping, opening with a dinner cruise on the Chao Phraya one evening, a day in Safari World and Marine Park, plus a trip out to Damnoen Saduak's floating market. Day by day
Day 1: Arrival at Koh Samui Airport, transfer to hotel
Landing at Koh Samui Airport, you'll be met and taken straight to your hotel, with much of the day left open — a chance to ease in, unwind by the beach or explore nearby, before island touring starts the next morning.
Day 2: Angthong Marine Park snorkelling and kayaking by speedboat
Over forty limestone islands make up the Angthong Marine National Park archipelago, lying off Koh Samui's coast. The full day here combines an unhurried speedboat run between the islands, snorkelling time in the water, and a kayaking stretch around sheltered bays — among the Gulf of Thailand's most-photographed outings.
Day 3: Visit to an elephant sanctuary
This day centres on an ethical sanctuary for elephants on Koh Samui's grounds, where visitors observe and feed them in natural surroundings instead of riding or watching performances. Such sanctuaries now rank among the island's most sought-after experiences for travellers wanting close, welfare-focused contact with elephants.
Day 4: Fly to Bangkok, evening Chao Phraya dinner cruise
After checking out, a transfer carries you onward to Koh Samui Airport, where a short flight continues to Bangkok. Once you've settled at the Bangkok hotel, evening brings a dinner cruise on the Chao Phraya, gliding past temples and landmarks lit along the riverside, with a buffet served on board.
Day 5: Safari World and Marine Park, Bangkok (approx. 1 hr 30 mins / 34 km one way)
Around 08:00, a pick-up delivers you to Safari World, home to a 170-acre zoo and marine park combination on the edge of Bangkok. Vehicles carry visitors through the Safari Park area, where free-roaming lions, tigers, bears, zebra and giraffe can be seen up close, while the Marine Park side puts on dolphin and sea lion performances. The outing generally wraps up by about 17:00, before you head back to settle in for the night at your Bangkok hotel.
Day 6: Damnoen Saduak floating market tour (approx. 109 km southwest of Bangkok)
This excursion heads southwest to Damnoen Saduak, among Thailand's best-known floating markets, sitting roughly 109 kilometres from Bangkok near Nakhon Pathom and Samut Songkhram. Boats piloted by traders move through the narrow canals, many of them dressed in blue farmer's shirts with wide-brimmed hats, selling produce such as fresh fruit and vegetables alongside cooked food — a classic glimpse of canal-side life close to the capital.
Day 7: Transfer to Bangkok Airport
After breakfast and check-out, you’re transferred to Bangkok’s airport in time for your onward or return flight, bringing the trip to a close.
