Trip overview

Rather than adding a Pattaya stop, this take on the Phuket-Krabi pairing gives extra time to the capital instead. The two Phuket nights include the Fantasea show one evening and a full day out on the water around Phi Phi by boat; from there, an overland transfer to Krabi (roughly two and a half hours by road) sets up a full day hopping four islands by speedboat, before a flight to Bangkok brings the trip to its final two nights.

In Bangkok, the focus rests on a city and temple tour, a dinner cruise on the Chao Phraya by evening, and a day exploring Safari World and Marine Park. Against our other Andaman routes, this one suits travellers wanting fewer stops overall — just two beach provinces plus the capital — leaving out the Alcazar Show and the Coral Island day that a Pattaya leg would bring.

Highlights

  • An evening at the Phuket Fantasea show, with dinner
  • A full-day Phi Phi Island tour by big boat, with lunch
  • A road transfer linking Phuket and Krabi (about 2 hours 30 minutes, covering 163 kilometres)
  • A full-day Krabi 4-Island tour by speedboat, with a lunch box
  • A domestic flight from Krabi to Bangkok
  • A city and temple tour in Bangkok, a Chao Phraya dinner cruise by evening, and time spent at Safari World and Marine Park

Day by day

Day 1: Arrival at Phuket Airport, transfer to hotel (approx. 45 mins / 33 km), evening Fantasea show

Landing at Phuket Airport, a transfer covers the 33 kilometres to your hotel in around 45 minutes.

Around 17:00, a pick-up carries you to Phuket Fantasea for an evening of dinner and show — a 140-acre park built around Thai myth, blending a carnival village, a buffet restaurant seating 4,000, and a Las Vegas-style stage production, with elephants, dancers and dramatic effects on show.

Day 2: Full-day Phi Phi Island tour by big boat with lunch (approx. 9 hrs)

A big boat carries you out for a full day around the Phi Phi archipelago, covering Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Lay's limestone cliffs, where Maya Bay sits. Swimming and snorkelling time follows, in clear water among the islands, before the boat returns to Phuket late in the afternoon.

Day 3: Transfer to Krabi by road (approx. 2 hrs 30 mins / 163 km)

The Phuket hotel check-out is followed by an overland drive to Krabi, covering the journey in roughly two and a half hours across 163 kilometres, with the rest of the day left free for leisure.

Day 4: Full-day Krabi 4-Island tour by speedboat with lunch box

Speedboat hopping fills a full day here, taking in four well-known stops around Krabi — Koh Poda, Chicken Island, Tup Island and Phranang Cave Beach — where you can swim and snorkel at every stop. Each visitor must also pay a national park fee, currently THB 400, on top of the tour price.

Day 5: Fly Krabi to Bangkok, city and temple tour, Chao Phraya dinner cruise

Check-out is followed by a transfer to Krabi Airport (roughly 30 minutes, 24 kilometres), then a flight lands you at Suvarnabhumi Airport, Bangkok. From there, a driver covers the 32 kilometres to the hotel in about 40 minutes.

Luggage stays at the hotel while the midday tour takes in Bangkok's most important temples: Wat Traimit, home to the Golden Buddha, and the Marble Temple — known formally as Wat Benchamabophit — with a pause at a Gems Gallery along the way. Later, at 18:00, a pick-up heads to River City Pier for an evening cruise on the Chao Phraya, with a buffet dinner on board as you sail past the lit-up riverside.

Day 6: Safari World and Marine Park, Bangkok (approx. 1 hr 30 mins / 34 km one way)

Collected around 08:00, you're taken to Safari World, spanning 170 acres split between zoo and marine-park areas at the edge of Bangkok. The Safari Park area is home to free-roaming lions, bears, tigers, zebra and giraffe, while the Marine Park puts on shows featuring dolphins and sea lions; the visit usually winds down by about 17:00.

Day 7: Transfer to Suvarnabhumi Airport (approx. 1 hr / 33 km)

With breakfast and check-out done, a final transfer carries you to Suvarnabhumi Airport for the flight that takes you onward or back home, closing out the trip.

Frequently asked questions

How many domestic flights does this trip include?
Just one domestic flight is used, connecting Krabi with Bangkok; the earlier Phuket-to-Krabi leg is covered overland instead.
Do we need a visa for Thailand?
Visa requirements depend on your nationality and change from time to time, so check the current rules for your passport with the Thai embassy or consulate before you book.
Are national park fees included in the Krabi island day?
The 4-Island tour carries a mandatory national park fee of THB 400 per person, usually paid on the spot — ask us whether your quote already includes it.
What is the best season for this route?
The calmest seas around the Andaman islands, plus drier weather in Bangkok, both fall between November and April; boat schedules can be affected during the rainy monsoon stretch, roughly from May through October.
Can a Pattaya stop be added to this trip?
Yes — for anyone specifically wanting a Coral Island day alongside the Alcazar Show, the Phuket, Pattaya and Bangkok trip in our lineup usually fits better; this route, too, can be adjusted on request.
