Krabi Beaches and Islands in 4 Days

One excursion is fixed on this Krabi trip, leaving a whole day open besides — a good match for travellers who value beach time over a busy schedule, staying near Ao Nang and the limestone shoreline around Railay.

Trip overview

Sightseeing stays light: only the four-island speedboat outing is fixed, framed by two days entirely of your own choosing. Limestone cliffs define the coastline here — Railay Beach sits boat-access only and draws rock climbers, Ao Nang serves as the main town with a strip of restaurants, and Hat Noppharat Thara lies just along the shore.

With most days left open, couples and small groups can set their own rhythm rather than shuttling between planned activities, and afterwards a Phuket extension, or a few extra days on Phi Phi, fits in easily for anyone wanting more islands.

Trip highlights

  • A speedboat tour with lunch to four islands — Koh Poda, Chicken Island (Koh Gai), Koh Tub and Koh Mor
  • A stop at Phra Nang Cave Beach on the Railay peninsula
  • An unscheduled day for wandering the beaches of Ao Nang and Railay at whatever pace suits you
  • A base close to Railay, prized by climbers for its limestone cliffs

Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Krabi

What draws visitors to Krabi is its beaches and islands: clear water and soft sand line Ao Nang, Railay and Hat Noppharat Thara, each with its own line-up of adventure activities, and Phi Phi Island lies within day-trip distance. Rock climbers head to Railay above all, for cliffs of sheer limestone that also pull in sunbathers, while Ao Nang's beachfront gives you a solid choice of places to eat on your first night.

Day 2: Full-day Four Islands tour with lunch

Setting out from Ao Nang, the boat trip reaches the four closest islands — Koh Poda, Chicken Island (Koh Gai), Koh Tub and Koh Mor — picked for water calm and clear enough for swimming and snorkelling. A further stop is Phra Nang Cave Beach, tucked on Railay's peninsula, boat-access only and often ranked among the loveliest stretches of coast in the area.

Day 3: Free day in Krabi

Nothing is booked for this day, leaving you free to wander Ao Nang, Railay or nearby beaches however you like — more sun, a longtail ride out to a quiet cove, or simply a rest after two busier days.

Day 4: Departure from Krabi

Breakfast and checkout are followed by the transfer that gets you to Krabi Airport in time for your onward journey, closing out a short break built on beaches, limestone scenery and island hopping. Given how light the schedule is, this also works well tacked onto a longer Thailand trip for extra beach days.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a fixed excursion every day?
No — only the speedboat trip to the four islands, set for the middle day, is fixed, while the first and last days stay open, which is exactly why this suits travellers who would rather relax on the sand than follow a packed schedule.
What is the best season for the Four Islands tour?
Between November and April the sea tends to be calmer and clearer, good conditions for swimming and snorkelling near Phra Nang Cave Beach and Koh Poda. From May through October the monsoon can roughen conditions, so it's worth checking closer to your travel dates.
Can Krabi be combined with Phuket or Phi Phi?
Yes — with both islands close by, travellers often extend this short trip with time in Phuket or Phi Phi if they want to see more than the four islands already on the itinerary.
Is this trip suitable for a honeymoon?
Yes — a full free day plus only one half-day excursion keeps things light, which is exactly the appeal for couples wanting beach time rather than a full itinerary.
Is there a minimum number of travellers?
The Four Islands tour can run as a private trip for your own party or alongside other travellers, and any minimum numbers depend on which option you choose. We can confirm this when you book.
